Eldoris A. Conway, 86, of Janesville, WI passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Harbor House from complications of Alzheimer’s. Ellie was born May 31, 1924 in Cambridge, WI, the daughter of Deloris and Gladys (Olson) Strommen. Following her father’s death when Ellie was a young child, her mother married Obin Lein. Ellie graduated from Janesville High School. She married Robert E. Conway Sr. on March 14, 1944. They resided and farmed in La Prairie Township. Ellie was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church. She was a 4-H art leader for many years and later taught art lessons at her home to anyone who was interested. In addition to doing her art work, she loved to knit. Ellie and Bob raised and showed German Shepherds and traveling to many dog shows through out the country.

Ellie is survived by her husband, Bob, her children, Bob Conway Jr. of Venice, CA, Scott (Sally) Conway, Eric Conway, Rondi (Jack) Alsteen and Caryn (Roger Balas) Conway all of Janesville, a brother, Ken Lein of Janesville. She has 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and step-father, Obin Lein, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Conway, her brother, Ronald Strommen, her sister, LaVonne Kemnitz and a daughter-in-law, Elissa Conway.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Cargill United Methodist Church. Rev. Forrest Wells will officiate. Burial will follow in Emerald Grove Cemetery.
